Pastoral Care/Hospitality
Our Lady Queen of Peace is known as an inclusive, welcoming, and caring parish. This is because of volunteers who reach out to our parish community by greeting newcomers, visiting sick and elderly homebound parishioners, providing transportation to those with disabilities, preparing breakfast on Sundays, and planning social events such as the annual parish picnic. Social Justice And Outreach
If you are someone who likes to help others and wants to take the Good News from the church into the world, Our Lady Queen of Peace offers many opportunities to live your faith through social action. Volunteers are needed to help with OLQP's food pantry, Matthew 25 Bazaar Thrift Shop, and Project Gabriel, prepare and serve meals at the Carpenter Shelter in Alexandria, help with the parish's Haiti Committee or work on one of the many social justice teams on issues like immigrant rights, gun violence, and care for the environment.
