Faith Formation Overview
Pope Francis reminds us that, “Living the Christian life…is a lifelong commitment to getting to know Jesus through prayer and studying His word.” Our goal in Faith Formation is to lay a strong foundation to prepare and inspire our youth for this lifelong journey.
There are several parts of our Faith Formation program:
Volunteers Needed
If you enjoy growing your faith and love working with children, volunteering for Faith Formation is calling your name! We’re looking for engaging, enthusiastic folks for the upcoming school year to help in all areas of this ministry. We’ll provide you with training and materials. Volunteers under the age of 18 will need to be accompanied by an adult in compliance with the diocese.
For more information on the different aspects of our Faith Formation Program, please see the links below or contact Cecilia Lopez or Carly Onopa.
There are several parts of our Faith Formation program:
- Children’s Liturgy of the Word: children ages 4-8 are invited to spend time listening and discussing God’s word during the 9:30 am and 11:15 am masses during the school year (October-June).
- Foundations: for our youngest students (0 – Kindergarten age) we offer a “parent-and-me” class. Starting in 1st grade, students will enter seven years of classes taking them from First Communion through Confirmation.
- Monthly Family Mass: Offered at 4:00pm after our monthly Foundations workshops.
- Family Circles: Parents are a child’s first and best teachers. Thus, we also help parents lead Family Circles so they can conduct weekly lessons with their children as well.
- Youth Ministry: For students in 7th-12th grade to continue growing spiritually and sharing fellowship with peers.
