We will begin taking donations again on Sunday, March 3. Please save your donations until after this period. Thank you. Matthew 25 Ministry: Matthew 25 is one of the oldest social justice ministries at Our Lady Queen of Peace. Its name and our mission are taken from the Gospel of Saint Matthew, Chapter 25:31-46. We offer gently used clothing, shoes, and household goods, among other items, to those in need at no charge . Matthew 25 relies on the generous donations of parishioners and the general public for clothing and other items. All Matthew 25 operations are staffed solely by volunteers. Volunteers: Matthew 25 offers a number of volunteer opportunities. These include sorting donated items and processing them for display, distributing such items, and data entry and record management. Persons interested in volunteering at Matthew 25 should email the contacts shown above. Hours of Operation: The Matthew 25 thrift store is open to the general public on the following days of the week, unless otherwise shown in the 2022 MATTHEW 25 LIST OF DAYS CLOSED (see below): Wednesdays: 9:00 AM to 12:00 Noon Saturday: 9:00 AM to 12:00 Noon Donations (please see drop-off update above): Matthew 25 needs seasonal (Fall/Winter) clothing and shoes for men, women and school-age children. We also appreciate receiving new underwear and socks. Additional items accepted include bedding, towels, housewares, cookware, small kitchen appliances, infant and toddler clothing and accessories, children’s toys and stuffed animals, and small pieces of furniture, such as tables and floor lamps, small rugs, etc. Because of space limitations, we cannot accept major appliances and large furniture donations, including sofas, dining room tables and chairs, beds, dressers, etc. Please bag (preferred) or box clothing separately from all other items, i.e., shoes, bedding, housewares, toys, etc. Doing so helps us efficiently process donations for distribution to those in need.
