Youth MinistryYouth Ministry seeks to draw young people to responsible participation in the life, mission, and work of Our Lady Queen of Peace parish; to empower them to live as disciples of Jesus Christ in today's world; and to foster the personal and spiritual growth of each young person. For information about Our Lady Queen of Peace's ministry to youth and young adults, contact Mike Sheehan, 703-979-5580, msheehan@olqpva.org Teen Drop-In Night Program: Commit to participate in our "Teen Drop-In Nights" that happen on the 1st, 3rd, and 5th Sundays from 7 to 8:45 pm on the stage of Fr. Ray Hall. Volunteers are needed to help with hospitality, particularly in greeting and interacting with the teens, helping teen leaders facilitate the evening of activities, small groups, and reflections. Teen Service and Justice Projects: Accompany high school and middle school students to volunteer sites in our area and share in justice and service experiences with them (Saturdays and Sundays). Outings: Throughout the year we are looking for retreat team members, drivers, chaperones, and mentors. Young Adult MinistryYoung adult ministry at Our Lady Queen of Peace reaches out to people between the ages of 18-40 who are parish members or live nearby. OLQP young adult ministry seeks to provide opportunities to grow in faith, community, and service. The Sunday 6:00 pm Mass is oriented toward young people but open to all. There is a need for liturgical ministers, choir members, and hospitality volunteers. On the 4th Sunday of the month, young adults host a potluck dinner and social at 7:15 in the Founders Room. Young Adult Faith Sharing: Young adults gather twice a month for an hour of prayer and faith sharing from 8-9 pm in the Discussion room of the OLQP parish office. Weeknights vary.
