Youth and Young Adult Minister:
Mike Mothes - 703-303-5224, email@example.com
Youth Ministry seeks to welcome young people to participate in a safe and loving environment where they can come as they are to experience faith sharing, fellowship, and fun. At Our Lady Queen of Peace, youth are empowered to live as disciples of Jesus Christ in today's world, to foster the personal and spiritual growth of each young person, and to experience God's love for all of creation. Currently, our group consists of about 40 active members. Follow us on Facebook at The Many of OLQP and Instagram at joyfulolqp.
Teen Night Program
Commit to participate in our "Teen Nights" that happen Sunday nights after mass from 7:15pm to 8:30pm. Volunteers are needed to help with hospitality, particularly in greeting and interacting with the teens, helping teen leaders facilitate the evening of activities, small groups, and reflections. Throughout the year we will join together for meals, retreats, and special events. We are building a team of 15-20 adults who can help cultivate consistent relationships with students in both high school and middle school.
Youth Retreats and Social Gatherings
Through the course of the year we look for retreat team members, greeters, drivers, chaperones and mentors. We will also be producing a youth ministry theatrical performance again this year. To date, our youth have acted and worked as crew members for Godspell, You're a Good Man Charlie Brown, and 16 in Ten Minutes or Less. Please support our next performance! It is diocesan policy that all adults involved in OLQP youth ministry attend a Virtus Seminar and complete a child/youth protection compliance packet.
Young Adult Ministry
Young adult ministry at Our Lady Queen of Peace reaches out to people between the ages of 18-35 who are parish members or live nearby. OLQP young adult ministry seeks to provide opportunities to grow in faith, community, and service. The Sunday 6:00 pm Mass is oriented toward young people but open to all. There is a need for liturgical ministers, choir members, and hospitality volunteers. Young Adult Potluck: On the 4th Sunday of the month young adults host a potluck dinner and social at 7:15 following Mass.
Young Adult Retreats and Social Gatherings
Join fellow young adults on both one-day and weekend retreats throughout the year. Our community also gathers to support one another during birthdays, sporting events, and spontaneous meals after the 6pm Mass on Sundays. Currently, our group consists of about 50 active members.
